A member on the Republic Property Group Advisory Board, Ron Steinhart served as President of InterFirst Corporation, led the establishment of Team Bank which later merged with Bank One Texas, and was appointed CEO of the Bank One Corporation Commercial Banking Group where he was also a member of the Management Committee until his retirement in January 2000.
A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Ronald G. Steinhart earned a BBA in accounting and a MBA in finance the following year. He is a Certified Public Accountant (retired status) and presently serves as a Director of Penske Automotive Group, Inc. (NYSE: PAG) and Southcross Energy Partners, L.P. (NYSE: SXE). He previously served as a Director of seven other public companies and a Trustee of the MFS/Compass Group of mutual funds.
Steinhart was active in the Dallas financial community for more than 37 years. Between 1969 and 1980, he teamed with investors to charter or purchase six banks. Steinhart then joined the senior management of InterFirst Corporation in 1980 and became President a year later. In 1988, he led a group of investors that established Team Bank with private equity funds totaling $275 million. In November 1992, Team Bank, having grown to over $5.5 billion in assets, merged with Bank One Texas. Steinhart was subsequently appointed CEO of the Bank One Corporation Commercial Banking Group and a member of the Management Committee until his retirement in January 2000.
