Master Planned Communities
Two of Dallas/Ft. Worth’s leading residential developments companies – Forestar Real Estate Group and Republic Property Group – have partnered to develop Light Farms, a master-planned community spanning more than 800 acres in Celina.
With homes priced from $225,000 to $400,000, the community will pay tribute to the area’s heritage of horse ranches and farms as well as the agrarian history for which North Texas is known.
In addition to natural and sustainable landscapes, Light Farms is planned to provide a variety of rustic features. Among the highlights are two meticulously restored barns – roughly 200 years old – that are slated to be incorporated into the design of the main amenity center and sales office.
Traditional Texas-themed design elements will be evident throughout the community as architecture, fencing, posts, rustic stacked stone walls and trail heads will pay homage the land’s history.
Light Farms is planned to include a plethora of amenities such as a community center complete with a Junior-Olympic pool and recreational pool, state-of-the art fitness center, large open parks, green spaces, lakes, and hike-and-bike trails. Also planned are a series of natural waterfalls and water ways.
Light Farms is conveniently located between Preston Road and the Dallas North Tollway and is less than 15 minutes from fine shopping, dining, entertainment and sports facilities in Frisco and McKinney.
Construction of the community’s infrastructure will begin in the coming weeks followed by lot development, construction of entrance monuments and amenities. The first home sites are slated for a Spring 2009 completion. At build out, Light Farms will be the home to approximately 2,700 families.
